Baltimore Light Rail

Why Use the Light Rail?

The Baltimore Light Rail is one of the most convenient ways to travel to and from M&T Bank Stadium. Many concertgoers choose the Light Rail to avoid:
 

  • Stadium parking shortages

  • Heavy pre- and post-concert traffic

  • Expensive rideshare surge pricing

  • Long waits for Uber and Lyft pickups
     

With stations located directly near M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards, the Light Rail provides a simple and affordable transportation option for concert weekend.

Step 1: Find Your Nearest Station

Staying Near BWI Airport?

Staying Downtown?

​Staying Elsewhere?

Common stations include:

  • BWI Airport

  • BWI Business District

  • Nursery Road

  • Cromwell/Glen Burnie

You may be near:

  • Camden Yards

  • Convention Center

  • Federal Hill/Stadium Station

  • Pratt Street Area

Use Google Maps and search:

  • "Light Rail station near me"

  • "Light Rail station near [hotel name]"

Step 2: Purchase Your Fare

CharmPass App (Recommended)

Station Ticket Machines

Download the CharmPass mobile app to:

  • Purchase tickets in advance

  • Skip ticket machine lines

  • Keep tickets on your phone

Most Light Rail stations have ticket vending machines available.

For current fare information, visit the Maryland Transit Administration fare page.

Step 3: Board the Correct Train

Before boarding:

  • Check the destination displayed on the train.

  • Confirm it is traveling toward downtown Baltimore and the stadium area.

  • If you're unsure, ask station staff or fellow ARMY.

Many attendees will be traveling in the same direction on concert days.

Safety Reminder!

Please keep a safe distance from the tracks at all times.

Large crowds often form before and after major events. Remain aware of your surroundings, allow passengers to exit before boarding, and follow all instructions provided by transit staff and law enforcement.

Please be especially mindful of attendees traveling with children, wheelchairs, service animals, or mobility devices.

Arriving at the Stadium

The two most commonly used stations for M&T Bank Stadium are:

Federal Hill (Also referred to as Hamburg Street Station)

Located directly beside M&T Bank Stadium near the Gate B / Warner Street area.

Camden Yards Station

Located within walking distance of the stadium and commonly used during major events.

Upon arrival, simply follow event signage and the flow of ARMY heading toward the venue.

After the Concert

Expect Crowds!

Thousands of attendees may use the Light Rail after the show.

Plan for:

  • Long lines

  • Packed trains

  • Extended travel times

Patience will go a long way!

Follow directions from:

  • Transit staff

  • Stadium staff

  • Law enforcement

They are there to help everyone return safely.

Helpful Tips

Save Your Hotel Information

Before heading to the concert, take a screenshot of:

  • Hotel name

  • Hotel address

  • Nearest Light Rail station

This can be incredibly helpful after a long day.

Travel With Other ARMY

Many fans will be traveling together before and after the concert. Walking and riding with other ARMY can make navigating Baltimore easier and more comfortable.

Arrive Early

If this is your first time using the Light Rail, give yourself extra time.

Many concertgoers plan to arrive several hours before doors open to allow time for transportation, security, merchandise, and fan activities.

Other Transportation Options

Option 1: MARC Train (Recommended)

  • Travel to Washington Union Station.

  • Board the MARC Penn Line to Baltimore.

  • Exit at Baltimore Penn Station.

  • Continue to the stadium using local transportation

Option 2: Amtrak

  • Travel to Washington Union Station.

  • Take Amtrak to Baltimore Penn Station.

  • Continue to the stadium using local transportation.

Option 3: Drive + Light Rail

  • Drive to a Light Rail station near Baltimore

  • Park at stations such as BWI

  • Take the Light Rail directly to the stadium area

Stadium Parking

Official M&T Bank Stadium parking may sell out in advance. If official parking is unavailable, nearby garages, private lots, and third-party parking providers may still have availability. See Stadium Information Guide for Accessibility information.

Rideshare Options

Is Uber or Lyft Reliable After the Concert?

Rideshare services will be available, but attendees should be prepared for:

  • Heavy surge pricing

  • Long wait times

  • Significant traffic delays

  • Possible cell service congestion near the stadium


Several fans attending previous BTS concerts reported waiting extended periods for rides due to traffic and overloaded mobile networks. It's recommended that you try other transportation options first. 

It is heavily recommend to walk several blocks away from the stadium before requesting a ride.

 

Heading North / Inner Harbor

Consider walking toward:

  • Camden Yards

  • Pratt Street

  • Lombard Street

Heading South

Consider walking toward:

  • Ostend Street

  • Warner Street

  • Horseshoe Casino Rideshare Area


Heading Toward Federal Hill

Consider walking east via:

  • Ostend Street

  • Charles Street

  • Light Street
